Seas the Day!

Seas the day!  And it is easy for Members of Floridian Club of Sarasota to do when living only 8 minutes away from pristine Gulf beaches.  Spending time in nature, specifically the beach, has many benefits!    The sounds of the lapping waves and the warm heat of the sun provide a calming sensation, which can reduce stress and anxiety and reduce depression.  As you relax, your mood inevitably improves, which will reduce negative feelings and help you to recharge and boost confidence and self-esteem.

Walking on the beach is a great way to exercise – walking and running in the sand is great for toning legs and burning extra calories and exposure to the saltwater in the Gulf of Mexico can help with inflammation and skin issues, as the minerals restore skin’s pH balance.  It can also help lower your blood pressure and heart rate, reduce muscular tension, and decrease the production of stress hormones.  While you’re getting your physical fitness in, the exposure to the sun will provide you Vitamin D, which is vital for strong bones and teeth as well as immunity response!  After all that physical activity, you may be ready for a nap, and that is because the negative ions in the beach air help you absorb oxygen more easily, which in turn will help you relax and sleep better!

Among other benefits, being close to the water can help a person enter a state of serenity and peace that often stimulates creativity!  While you’re walking, look for seashells, shark teeth, and more ocean treasures and let nature inspire your artistic side.

Recently, Members of the Floridian Club of Sarasota went on an early morning beach walk, which culminated with swimming and shell hunting.  Understanding the importance of staying active, The Floridan Club of Sarasota’s event planner enjoys putting together creative and fun events that bring people together, instill fitness and healthy regimes, while strengthening the bonds that form long lasting friendships!
