Engaging in regular physical activity can have numerous benefits for members living in active adult communities, such as promoting independence, improving quality of life, reducing the risk of developing chronic conditions and illnesses, and enjoying a more fulfilling and vibrant lifestyles.
Embracing healthy lifestyles in active adult communities not only contributes to physical well-being, but also has a positive impact on mental health. Moreover, in an age where many older adults often feel isolated, group exercises emerge as a beacon of social support. These sessions provide seniors with a unique space to connect, share, and build bonds. It’s more than just fitness; it’s about belonging to a community that cheers for each member’s success and lends a hand during challenges.
The Floridian Club is committed to helping our members maintain their fitness! Not only does the Club boast a state-of-the-art Fitness and Yoga Center as well as an onsite Fitness Trainer and Yoga Instructor, but also offers Members low impact aerobic fitness classes – sassy chair fitness, gentle stretch, and water aerobics to name a few. Low-impact aerobics, are especially important in a 55+ active community, as they offer a revitalizing cardiovascular workout without undue stress on their joints. Exercises like chair aerobics and similar provide ample opportunity to elevate the heart rates and enjoy the myriad benefits of regular physical activity in a supportive group setting. Additionally, the Floridian Club offers three wellness seminars per month, most recently to include Just Breathe and Meditate, Strength Training for Fall Prevention, and The Wonder of Weights.
The Floridian Club doesn’t keep exercise to the gym only however! The onsite Activities Director strives to make exercise fun with special events such as Beach Walk & Breakfast, Pet & Parent Walks, and the upcoming Flamingo Flounce!
